Whittier Christian Schools have been enriched in many ways through the ministry of Genesis Account. The indoor and outdoor instruction, directed by a quality staff, has taken the schoolroom textbook information and allowed the children a hands-on educational experience. The natural setting, which allows children to interact with God’s creation, teacher, Genesis staff and each other, has become a solid part of our program at W.C.S. The dedication and commitment of the staff is evident by their love and concern with each and every student they teach, even to the length of knowing all 120 students by name. Camp devotions and worship services are always well planned and developed with our school needs in mind. If the students are in plants class, recreation time or on a hike, the students are respected and treated as God’s most treasured gifts of His creation. I couldn’t think of another program that could benefit a school more than Genesis Account. The ministry to our children over the years has been a real benefit to our school and a blessing to our lives.

We’ve been extremely satisfied with the program offered through Genesis Account. Students and parent counselors alike have been impressed with the quality of subject matter and fun activities to reinforce the theme for the week, concepts covered, etc. The staff has been open to suggestions for improvement. We’ve worked together as a team bringing ‘the best of two worlds’ (school and Genesis Account) to our students. Many have made decisions to accept Christ as Savior or to rededicate their lives to Him because of this team effort. I’ve been involved with a couple of other programs but have not been as impressed as I have been with Genesis Account.

The Genesis Account Outdoor Education program has been a great asset to our 6th grade program. It is the highlight of the year. All of our students look forward to it with great enthusiasm after hearing about it from the 6th graders. It is a wonderful memory maker!
Academically the program is well organized and enhances areas of science we have studied throughout the year. The teachers are knowledgeable in the subject matter and present it in an enthusiastic way. The class loves being outside and learning hands-on all day long!
Spiritually the program is geared for our pre-teens. The content is biblical and interestingly presented each night in the chapel service. There are skits, songs, object lessons and a great time in the Word of God each night.
Socially camp is a fun experience. Every year the game nights are a big hit! They love the Dutch auction, crazy game night and the night hike.
The staff has been a blessing to me as a teacher as they have a real love and burden for this age group. They are great at interacting with them on their level. They show great passion and interest in each child. They pray for us before coming to camp and with us during camp. They are good role models for our young people.
Without reservation I would recommend Genesis Account for your outdoor education experience.

Every year I am continually pleased and impressed with the professionalism of the G.A. staff. As new staff blends in with the old, the continuity is always carried on. They love working with kids and teach in a way that is successful. They make teachers and parent counselors willing to be involved and wanting to do all that the students are doing. As a veteran of nine years, I’ve seen a lot of changes for the good and I truly enjoy working with the Genesis Account staff.

I have been impressed by the instruction our students have received. The counselors arrive well-prepared for all classes. They are knowledgeable in many areas. I appreciate the discipline and control in the class settings so that the students can really learn. The games and activities help the retention of the lessons. I am thankful for all the fun ideas and games they bring for the recreation and activity times. Our students have a blast! I love how they take over and I can observe my students learn from someone else.

Your classes emphasizing group participation and teamwork were taught in such an open ended way that I was amazed and delighted with the student initiative that resulted.
I have enjoyed getting to know your staff personally and look forward to seeing them again next year. They are well qualified, balanced and full of talent and humor. There is one thing that will never occur during outdoor education, boredom!
Last, but most important is the Christian atmosphere and testimony in your camp. The things we learned about nature, science, physics, first aid and teamwork were never separated from our all-encompassing Father. The staff spoke His presence into all that we learned and did, and it was as natural as the fresh air we breathed. In this atmosphere, one of my “tough” guys accepted Jesus into his heart. You must be doing something right!

The Genesis Account sixth grade outdoor school last May was the highlight of our school year. The educational emphasis strengthened and expanded our study of animal and plant life. An outstanding benefit of the week was the problem solving emphasis. Each child returned home with a greater appreciation of self and others as individuals made in the image of God. In addition, the Genesis Account staff was well-trained, personable and dedicated to God’s ervice.

I am happy to recommend Genesis Account to all elementary and junior high schools in ACSI. There are three major reasons that I feel make our experience with Genesis Account such an enjoyable one each year.
First of all, Genesis Account provides the entire outdoor education program – everything from curriculum to scheduling to special activities, devotional ideas…arrangements with the camp director and much more. This allowed the school staff to be much less apprehensive in taking on the new adventure of outdoor ed.
Secondly, the personnel is first class. Every instructor knew exactly what he was doing. Each one had an intricate lesson plan, objectives for the subjects and an innovative means for getting across each point. Each instructor is a born again Christian who knows how to integrate Christ into his curriculum area.
Finally, we were impressed with the curriculum offerings. The variety of activities…would be impossible to teach in a classroom at school. The outdoor education program offered new and exciting experiences for the youngsters that they would not have experienced otherwise. I heartily recommend Genesis Account to handle any outdoor education program.

As a [home schooling] support group leader I’m always looking for new sources of educational and spiritual experiences for my children.
For moms, our week at camp meant no dishes, meal planning, laundry, phone calls or curriculum planning. It was also a week of observing creative ideas for teaching science. The opportunity to observe our children in a new environment of learning and friends was rewarding. Fellowship with other home schooling parents, time alone with the Lord or special time with our children was available at the camp.
For the children a week at camp meant new friends, food, games, crazy camp songs, devotional songs, a new teacher, creative learning, new social challenges and creation as their text book. (Genesis Account provides binders for recording educational exercises and journal entries.)
Do my children want to go back? Absolutely! Months later when my eleven year old daughter was asked what would stand out in her mind of having great value [for the year], she replied, “My experience at science camp!”
The staff at Genesis Account was excellent. They all had a great rapport with children yet held firm to a certain discipline that kempt order in the camp. The evening programs were extremely fun yet educational. The daily schedule had a rest time so all were able to keep pace.

We so appreciate the time put into preparation and planning to provide an educational as well as fun time for our students. The classes were very hands-on and I know the students enjoyed them, as did we teachers. It was exciting to see how the Lord would use the activities of the day to coincide with the devotions we had planned with our classes during journal time.
