Christine Gibson - Executive Director
B.A. Marine Biology, Barrington College, Barrington, RI

Chris is the Executive Director of Genesis Account American Outdoor Schools and as such handles all program matters related to the organization. Chris worked with Nature's Classroom as an instructor for 4th through 8th grade students, taught at the Seoul Foreign School in Seoul, Korea and obtained a teaching certification from the state of Maryland. She also wrote curriculum for the Department of Natural Resources for the state of Maryland. She joined the GA staff in Fall of 1988.

Robert Frembling - Director & Founder
BA Physical Education, San Francisco State University
MS Recreation Leisure Studies, San Francisco State University
Candidate in Philosophy, University of Minnesota

Robert spent 18 years as professor of Recreation and Leisure Studies at Biola University and California State University at Hayward. He served as interim director at camps Oakhurst and Sugar Pine, and director of Shiloh Ranch and JH Guest Ranch.

Robert founded Genesis Account in 1977 and has directed or assisted in directing the program since its inception. He loves to travel and has led tours to Europe. He also taught grades four-eight in California public schools. During his time working with YMCA camps and his experience in the Boy Scouts, he gained a love for the outdoors.

Heather Swan - Promotions Director

Heather has worked with several Christian camps and at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite in Fish Camp, California. She joined our staff to promote Genesis Account and American Outdoor Schools to schools and camps in Oregon, Washington, California and Arizona. She has also been on our teaching staff since Spring 2000.

Autumn Stevick - Instructor
M.A. Christian Ministries, Trinity Seminary, Vancouver, British Columbia, B.S. Biology, Whitworth College, Spokane, WA

Autumn has worked with Mt. Hermon Youth Camp in Santa Cruz, California and with Cascades Camp and Conference Center in Yelm, WA. She has worked as a short-term missionary in Mexico and Kenya, and also with inner-city youth in Washington. She joined the GA staff in Fall of 2000.

 

Aimee Wedemeier - Instructor
B. A. Religion and Theology emphasis in Intercultural Studies, Taylor University College, Edmonton, AB, Canada

Aimee has worked as assistant program director at Grindstone Lake Bible Camp in Sandstone, MN and has done considerable work with youth in her church. She is certified in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Lifeguarding. Her interests include soccer, swimming, hiking, and camping. She joined the GA staff in the Spring of 2005.

Jim Sabedra - Instructor
Major in Zoology, Palomar Community College, San Marcos, CA

Jim worked with the Green Oak Ranch Nature Center for several years and has done extensive study in native California plants and animals. He joined the GA staff in Spring of 1992.

Debra Fletcher - Instructor
B.S, Biological Sciences, California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo, CA

Debra was a member of the Porterville College honor society, Phi Theta Kappa before attending Cal Poly. While attending Cal Ploy, she was a member of Asian American Christian Fellowship. She has studied and collected endangered plant species. She joined the GA staff in the Fall of 2007

Sharon Broberg - Instructor
B.A. in Recreation and Parks Administration, Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA

Sharon worked in therapeutic and community recreation for 6 years, and then worked in youth ministry and camping administration for 4 years. As a mother of 2, she is currently active in the music and children's ministries at her church. She has been teaching with Genesis Account on a supplemental basis for 15 years.

Adrienne Combs - Instructor
B. A. Spanish, Certificate in Leadership and Camp Ministry, Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL 

Adrienne has facilitated adventure challenge education and hosted youth and young adult retreats at Honey Rock Camp in Three Lakes, WI.  She is nearly fluent in Spanish and has her CPR and Wilderness First Responder Certifications. Start: fall 2006.
