AMERICAN OUTDOOR SCHOOL

CALIFORNIA HERITAGE (4th grade) is a 2-day living history experience in the mountains and city of Santa Barbara. Students will tour and engage in hands-on activities at the Queen of the Missions, Royal Presidio, historic County Courthouse, recreated Chumash Village and Cold Spring Tavern (a former stagecoach stop).
DISCOVERERS (5th grade) focuses on using human senses to observe and understand the natural environment and its living and non-living parts.
EXPLORERS (6th grade) concentrates on examining the nature around us to understand and appreciate interdependence within the world"s ecosystems.
ADVENTURE EDUCATION (all grades) is another off-site study program with opportunities for students to actively learn teamwork and leadership skills through challenging outdoor initiatives and ocean kayaking.
WILDERNESS SKILLS (8th grade, but adaptable for all grades) is based on the concept that the natural environment can provide for our basic needs. Participants will utilize their surroundings to create shelter and warmth, navigate the wilderness, and find sustenance.
SUMMER CAMP (6th & 7th grades) is a week at San Marcos Christian Camp filled with opportunities for personal development and leadership training. Campers will learn about sustainable self-care through preparing their own meals, ocean kayaking, paintball team-building, rock climbing, and so much more. Prepare for the most thrilling week of summer!
INVESTIGATORS (7th grade) is centered on collecting and analyzing data about the natural world, and defining humans' role as stewards of the earth.

Founded in 1977, Genesis Account provides quality outdoor education programs for Christian Schools.
Using God’s creation as the classroom, GA is committed to growing students and adults towards a deeper relationship with God by helping them understand His creation and how it reflects the nature and attributes of a personal God (Romans 1:20).
GA is interdenominational and subscribes to the Statement of Faith of the Association of Christian Schools International.
Our program is designed to increase students' awareness of God's love through a better understanding of His Creation. It also encourages students to deepen relationships with their peers and classroom teacher.
